Carlos Guerrero PhD is our scientific director
Carlos A. Guerrero PhD is originally from Colombia, South America. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University, where he received his PhD in reproductive physiology with emphasis in embryology. Prior to joining Fertility Specialists of Texas, Dr. Guerrero was a senior embryologist and head of research and development at the THR Presbyterian-Harris Methodist ARTS Program in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX. He is board certified in Human Clinical Andrology and Embryology and is a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director, In Vitro Fertilization Laboratory Director and Clinical Consultant by the American Board of Bioanalysis.
Quality control and assurance
As laboratory director, Carlos Guerrero PhD oversees and handles the quality control/quality assurance and overall functioning of our andrology, endocrinology and embryology laboratories. His technical experience and scientific knowledge in the assisted reproduction laboratory have been recognized both locally and nationally.
His expertise is on all areas of embryology and andrology.

Dr. Guerrero actively performs research and has several publications in prestigious scientific journals. His current research interests include egg freezing for fertility preservation, blastocyst freezing, embryo growth and selection, blastocyst culture and male infertility.
He is fluent in English and Spanish, and he is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the American Association of Bioanalysts. Dr. Guerrero is also the founder and president of the Dallas Embryologists Association.
Dr. Guerrero was “Embryologist of the Month” by the American College of Embryology for the month of June 2014 and named on “The Latino American Who’s Who TOP 100” in 2014.
