- Review the basic Egg Donor Requirements
- Complete the three-step application process, which involves online prescreening, the online application and the in-person medical screening.
- Once approved, you will become an active donor. We will share your profile with FST couples actively searching for an egg donor.
- When a couple chooses you, you’ll start a cycle that increases your egg production for retrieval and donation.
- After the egg retrieval is complete, you’ll receive compensation. You can then return to the donor pool and savor the amazing joy that comes from giving someone the greatest gift of all.

Frequently asked questions about egg donation
Is it painful to be an egg donor?
The process of egg donation is generally very well-tolerated. During the average 10 days of stimulation medications, the last three to five days can become uncomfortable as your ovaries grow in size. You are under anesthesia for the procedure itself. Most people report some mild to moderate cramping that day and the next.
You will likely feel 100% back to normal within a week of the retrieval.
Will my fertility be compromised if I am an egg donor?
No! This is a common misconception. Every month your ovaries produce a large group of eggs and your brain tells one of those eggs to grow and ovulate. The rest of the eggs die. During the egg donation process, we simply make all of those eggs grow together so that we can retrieve them. Your ovaries go back to making the groups of eggs every month immediately after. We are NOT taking eggs that would have ovulated later.
What are the side effects of egg donation?
The main side effects of the process are mood swings, pelvic fullness and pressure.
